About the Founder

I was in academia/universities (PhD at UPitt, Postdoc researcher at UC Berkeley, and Research Scientist at Stanford) for 10 years and then in Tech & EdTech companies (Director of Data Science & AI at Meta spinoff Chan Zuckerberg Initiative & Microsoft) for 10 years with experiences in STEM subjects like statistics, genetics, data science, and AI.

Throughout my career across academia and tech, I have mentored many fresh grads with their projects & career preparedness for real job applications. As my daughter went through Middle and High school, I observed the need to connect her & her friends to college students with similar interests. Now, with the program, I have seen them and other students engage with the mentors to learn about the subjects they deeply care about.

Our Mission and Philosophy

We aim to inspire & train the next generation of learners in high schools, by connecting them with mentors in universities, who guide them with projects in STEM & other subjects, thus helping the learners to develop interest, critical thinking & readiness beyond high school.

These project outcomes (publications, Github/app) are increasingly becoming differentiators for successful college applications.

Hand-picked Mentors

We thoughtfully hand-picked mentors from our alma maters, top universities & companies where we know the quality of the mentors & their research and work. Even as ResearchNBuild grows, this focus will continue to ensure the quality & engagement of the mentors.
